Philippines based edtech startup, Edukayson acquired FindUniversity in 2018. Edukayson provides a one-stop portal for career and educational guidance, scholarship opportunities, and institution directories in the higher education sector.
The amount of the deal is undisclosed, post which Edukasyon has been looking to rapidly upscale its educational institution network.
Edukasyon’s catalog reflects 20,000 courses from 13,000 schools and 500 institutions on one hand while, FindUniversity had built a directory of 20,000 educational programs from 900 institutions.
Despite the acquisition, Edukasyon has chosen to leave both the websites separated instead of closing down and assimilating FindUniversity’s platform in to its own. It is expected that a new logo and homepage will be included as FindUniversity will revamp its website while implementing access to tools and contents on Edukasyon’s website.
Henry Motte-Muñoz, the founder and CEO of Edukasyon gave a statement revelaing that they are very impressed with FindUniversity’s online visibility and robust database of schools, programs and rankings. He expressed his excitement given the integration will add value to its student users by integrating Edukasyon’s tools, resources and content, and to our partner institutions by offering an additional gateway to prospective applicants.
Edukasyon’s chief technology officer, Jason Townes French said that FindUniversity’s legacy product and wealth of analytics are complementary to Edukasyon’s innovative technology and engagement mediums. Improvement of both platforms is what both the companies are seeking according to the CTO. By 2020, Edukasyon is aiming to attain 20 million students in the ASEAN.
